Churches Together in Epsom - Proposal for the ‘Vision Group’

It is proposed that Churches together have a ‘Vision Group’ which would meet to consider, at greater leisure than we can afford at our regular meetings, matters of importance.

These matters would include the theological, scriptural, spiritual aspects of any activity at present undertaken by Churches Together or which might be proposed to it.

It is suggest that the Group meet once between meetings of Churches Together and report to the next meeting.

It is also suggested that the Group consist of about 6-8 members of whom the Chairman, Secretary and Vice-Chairman would be 3.   We would want to ensure that the main traditions represented in Epsom are present as well as a balance of lay and ordained people.

An example: one of the questions that were asked both before and after ‘Worship in the Park’ in September 2007 was what the purpose of it was.  That is the kind of question that the Vision Group would attempt to tackle.   Another example: should there be a 24/7 Prayer Week in 2009?   And so on.

Adrian Esdaile, August 2008

The above proposal has been approved by the CTiE September 2008 meeting and members are invited to stand for this Vision Group, nominations in the first place to the Secretary, it is understood that the members other than those indicated above will be for an agreed period and will be flexible to ensure a very wide range of participation.

This above sub committee has been formed and reports back to the CTiE meetings, minutes are on the sub domain as circulated.
